Open since 2016, and built on the footprint of North Omaha’s iconic Fair Deal Café, OEDC’s Fair Deal Village MarketPlace features a restaurant plus a variety of businesses owned and operated by local entrepreneurs in a unique shopping environment.
The marketplace consists of micro-retail units for eight small businesses made of adapted shipping containers. A new building mimics the shape of the original Fair Deal Cafe and includes space for tenants such as a restaurant and small grocery store. The project benefited from HUD financing and the end result is a unique experience anchored in historical context that sets the standard for future development in the area. |
