The Margaret may be one of the most beautifully restored buildings in North Omaha. But one fact stands out above its beauty, it is totally Green and was awarded the Civic Leaf Award from Omaha by Design in 2013. By preserving The Margaret, OEDC diverted 2,640,740 pounds of waste from going to the landfill. In addition, the combined installation of geothermal and solar domestic hot water systems reduced power plant greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 328,000+ pounds annually while contributing combined utility savings up to 60% for our tenants. With fully restored sunrooms, a robust ventilation system and smoke free environment, The Margaret exhibits all the desired characteristics of a healthy interior living environment.
